Normally I have to report that all my books are in storage
But when it comes to Balls Bluff, all the stuff is where I can get at it. If you need cites, please ask. BusterD (talk) 17:56, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- I'm pulling them from Open library, Google books, and kindle copies I have. My citation for Farwell and the provoking of a reaction is an estimate from my Kindle copy which doesn't have pagination. Do you have that page in your hard copy? Can you correct it, if necessary, please? Thanks! Boo Boo (talk) 18:05, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- Morgan is by far the best of the sources applied. I'd trust Morgan over Farwell and Holien. I do have my Farwell. Page 10 is a map. What chapter am I looking for? What is the start of the paragraph? BusterD (talk) 18:33, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- Don't see it by index. Farwell only mentions Beauregard twice in the whole book. BusterD (talk) 18:39, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah, sorry, it wasn't Farwell. Do we need a citation from Farwell? Can we delete him as a ref and move him to a "Further Reading" section? Boo Boo (talk) 23:28, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- Farwell is a general military historian, not an ACW expert. Holien writes a narrative but makes simple mistakes so I don't trust his work. Jim Morgan was one of the BB battlefield guides for many many years. Exhaustive knowledge of the ground, the backstory, and the narrative. And the sources. There are few Loudon County historians I would trust as well. BusterD (talk) 23:37, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- Cool beans! Thanks! Boo Boo (talk) 23:52, 20 March 2023 (UTC)

50th New York Engineer Regiment
Hi my friend. I hope you are fine. I have removed a lot of unreferenced information. The new page review is one of the last approval stages, so when I see a page like this with a large amount of unreferenced information, and no {{In use}}
tag to show that the page is undergoing a major build, I tend to err on the side of caution and remove the unreferenced information. The easiest solution is for you to add the tag to indicate the page is still under construction (if it is). This prevents me and other editors from editing the page until the process is complete and the tag is removed. Please assume good faith of me, as I do of you. By all means add the information again when you can add the references. Best wishes, BoyTheKingCanDance (talk) 05:20, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
