Welcome!
[edit]Hi HilaryChiz! Thank you for signing up for the virtual Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center Art+Feminism Wikipedia edit-a-thon!
As a reminder, I'll be hanging out in the Art+Feminism Slack channel #onlineediting from 11-5 EST tomorrow, March 28. You can share what you're working on, get suggestions, ask questions, or just chat. I hope to see you there!
You can also participate outside of that time. We'll be tracking edits leading up to the event and beyond. Feel free to continue using the Slack channel to ask questions, or reach out to me with questions on my Talk Page. Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically insert your username and the date.
Here are a few links to pages you might find helpful:
- Introduction and Getting started
- Contributing to Wikipedia
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page and How to develop articles
- How to create your first article
- Simplified Manual of Style
You may also want to watch some quick training videos. Here's one that will give you some background on the gender gap on Wikipedia, and this one will guide you through getting started by creating your user page.
Again, welcome! I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia and decide to keep working to make information more available worldwide.
