Japan-US relations edit
[edit]I felt it necessary to reverse this edit completely for the time being at least. I checked some of the additions and they seemed to be completely opinion; completely unfounded on new citations; and not drawn on the existing, next-in-the-text citations. I'm sorry I couldn't do a thorough exam of all the large, ranging set of additions encompassed in the one edit but I think reversal was warranted.
An editor's opinion is not allowed in the encyclopedia but citation of opinions of others published in reputable sources is. There's plenty of back and forth with other editors about what's a reputable source. But that's further down the road. The details of what I did cross-check are sketched in the Edit summary at the above-linked page. I'm open to contrary opinion and also to explaining in more detail why I did what I did so far and to trying to find ways to work to broaden the article in ways to incorporate views not currently expressed there. Please be in touch if you wish. Cheers. Swliv (talk) 23:41, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
