User talk:Hoteltravel
A tag has been placed on HotelTravelCheck, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add hangon
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -WarthogDemon 23:53, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles. Hi Deb -
This account or IP was blocked -- I want to close this account so i can open a new account for another company but cannot do this as we have an IP block -- I read the block was suppose to expire May 17th , 2008.
I checked how to unblock and it says to add this to my page -
- Hoteltravel (block log • active blocks • global blocks • autoblocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
- 99.204.125.45 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log)
Block message:
Range used by Scibaby
Decline reason: You should be able to edit Wikipedia. That rangeblock is anon-only which means you are able to edit from it. If the block is meant to expire on May 17th then it should have a blockid which we need to find your block. It sounds like an autoblock from another account to me. - Woody (talk) 13:09, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks in advance - <name redacted> <mobile phone number redacted> CELL TEXT
PS> This account was created in an effort to add Historic Hotel Details about hotels -- as I have read below we did not follow the correct procedures as it looked like advertising - I want to close this account and sign up under a new company I own.
- Please stand by as I contact the blocking admin about this rangeblock. I have redacted your personal information for your privacy. Sandstein 17:39, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- To avoid further disappointment in the event of your choosing a new username, I would strongly suggest that you avoid editing under the name of a Company, even if you do own it. While this is not necessarily so, most usernames which derive from the names of commercial enterprises are seen as promotional, and are usually not allowed. There are exceptions, surely, but why not choose a neutral-sounding name and avoid the hassle? --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 11:08, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Hotel Diva
[edit]Hi. If I was rewriting it to exclude all the advertising jargon, it would read something like this:
Hotel Diva is a hotel located in Union Square, San Francisco, California. The Hotel has 116 guest rooms and suites, and a meeting space for up to 35 people. (actually, the latter is very small by hotel standards, so perhaps not worth mentioning) The interior design was carried out by T. Olle Lundberg. == History == Constructed in 1915, this building originally housed the Somerton Hotel , which was home to many returning World War II soldiers. Personality Hotels purchased the building in the mid-1980s and converted it into the Hotel Diva, which opened in 1985.
I would find that acceptable as an article. Deb 11:44, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
