Bethel articles

[edit]

Hi, I had a quick look at your subarticles. At the moment there isn't any evidence presented in the articles to show that they meet the notability criteria. The relevant criteria are described in the following two guidelines.

For example, for the church and school there needs to be evidence in the articles (as cited sources for example) to show that they "have been the subject of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources." The Wikipedia:Verifiability policy describes what is meant by reliable, independent secondary sources. Similarly, for Kris Vallotton, you need to ensure that he has been "the subject of published secondary source material which is reliable, intellectually independent, and independent of the subject." Re: Bethel articles

[edit]

As you may know, I'm new to Wikipedia. And I'm excited about the opportunity to write and expand the knowledge base that it represents.

Let me briefly share why a short article about Bethel School Of Supernatural Ministry makes sense.

The entry Redding, California references the school, which currently has around 1200 students. Right now there is no existing page on Wikipedia for the school. The founder of the school, Kris Vallotton has authored three books, and has been mentioned already at List of Christian mystics.

As I continue to write for Wikipedia, I will gain a better understanding of what "notability" means for the Wikipedia community.

There is a Wikipedia entry called Deletionism and inclusionism in Wikipedia. This is mentioned simply to acknowledge that there may be some differing points of view out there.

To summarize, I am taking the approach that it makes sense to fill in existing gaps. This means developing entries for pages that do not currently yet exist.

If you can refer me to any specific articles or discussions that would help me to understand a consensus viewpoint, that would be much appreciated. Houseofisaac (talk) 02:24, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
