Assessment of Article Draft

[edit]

Major revisions necessary.
There are significant problems with this draft that need to be addressed. I think you may have misunderstood the assignment.

  • You need to show how your new sentences will fit in to the already-existing page on Alma Reville. You cannot repeat information that is already on that page. You should indicate in your draft where the existing sentences will go by using square brackets: [Existing biographical info about Reville here] Alternately, you could add your sentences directly to the existing page, being careful not to delete any high-quality existing text.
  • You CANNOT cite the existing page on your page, because your text will soon be added to the existing page. Delete this citation.
  • There are too many close paraphrases of the secondary sources here. Don't just re-arrange sentences a little or find a few synonyms -- re-write things completely in your own words. Check out the "Plagiarism" Training Module to learn how to avoid close paraphrases.
  • Fix the references so that there are no error messages. Also fix the reference that currently refers to Carleton.
  • Make sure that film titles are in italics, not quotation marks.
  • It's important that you fix these issues before you start moving your text onto the existing page in mainspace. If you have any questions about this, make an appointment to come see me. - Chronophoto (talk) 02:47, 10 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
