Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. In addition, adding links to talk pages is not consistent with the purpose of Wikipedia talk pages. Please read the talk page guidelines to see what is appropriate. JamesBWatson (talk) 12:09, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

James, thank you for the welcome. I am an admin for LibriVox, a site which produces public domain audio versions of public domain texts. LibriVox might be considered to be a sort of audio version of the Gutenberg project. I was very dismayed to see your message saying that my posting to the discussion page (I'm not sure which one) violated WP policies. I am sorry that it did so. I had used a template suggested for us by another LV admin, and had posted on the talk page. That procedure would, we thought, not violate WP's guidelines, and would allow people who were interested in the book or the author to find related public domain audio. I did look through the talk page guidelines and thought that what I had posted was OK. I wonder if you could help me find a way for us to let people looking at WP author and book pages know that there is this relevant PD content available for them to download? I, and all the other admins at LibriVox would be very grateful. Thank you. Icyjumbo (talk)
