Retroactively changing Signpost articles

[edit]

This is not necessary; an article written in 2014 does not need to (and emphatically should not) say "X, formerly Twitter". jp×g🗯️ 12:58, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Now that I look over more of your edits, I see that you are doing this in a lot of places. You're breaking archive links as well; please stop. Someone who made a tweet in 2009 was not making a post on X -- this is an objectively false anachronism. jp×g🗯️ 13:01, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
My apologizes, will stop. Would it be better if I just changed the domains from Twitter to X? ImNotCrismo (talk) 18:29, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not aware of any plans to actually deprecate the twitter.com domain. If that ends up happening then it's worth fixing the links, probably with a bot run, but until then it seems like it may create some issues and if done at all should be done carefully (i.e. they should never be changed inside of archive.org links, etc). jp×g🗯️ 21:13, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
