Hi, I apologize if you thought this edit was edited from a biased perspective. The reason I edited the page is that Dokdo (also known as Takeshima in Japan) was outlined in the picture showing the islands of Japan. This is inappropriate, because Dokdo is not a part of Japan's territory. It is Korean island according to history, and international law. I want to tell you more about this, but I will link you a video about why is Dokdo Korea's territory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEF9FDh4nZc I think it is inappropriate to have Dokdo in the page "List of islands in Japan" when it is not Japanese territory. I also think that Wikipedia's editing from a neutral perspective is important. One country's territory cannot be viewed as another country's territory, saying that another country claims sovereignty. I am sorry to say this, but even if you feel passionate about the topic at hand you may not insert your own point of view on the Liancourt Rocks dispute in articles. According to Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, you cannot insert your own point of view in articles even if you believe it is absolutely true. I mean, I myself do believe that South Korea should have sovernigty over Liancourt Rocks/Dokdo/Takeshima but I will not put that point of view in an article as it will cause the article to unduely favor the Korean POV over the Japanese POV. Wikipedia is not a place to demonstrate that South Korea has sovernigty over these disputed islets but rather a place to compile factual, neutral information about those territorial disputes. Besides, the map does not fully show that the Liancourt Rocks are Japanese territory- it only shows that said territory was disputed by showing the Liancourt Rocks with dotted lines on them. -- Shadow of the Starlit Sock 04:39, 13 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics
