Jaki Nelson, born Jacqueline Ranum Nelson to a loving entertainment family, has spent her life pursuing the arts. She started doing musicals under a program at CSUN at age 6. She began piano and voice lessons at age 10, and dance at 14. During high school, she landed the lead role in the controversial production of RENT, as well as the lead in an original, faculty-written drama. As a senior, Jaki took time off of school to lead an original pop-rock opera, "The Storm". She received rave reviews. After high school, she decided to move towards film acting, studying at top acting studios in Los Angeles such as Margie Haber Studios and John Rosenfeld Studios, which lead to Jaki's starring role in the upcoming dramatic film "Absolution". Meanwhile, she has been actively pursuing music as well. Right out of high school, she developed a strong interest in music production and recording and built her own studio in her home. She began recording vocal tracks for producers around the world and got signed for the first time in 2013. Her track "Take My Hand" is supported by such artists as Chris Lake, Markus Shulz, and Benny Benassi, and been featured on BBC Radio.
