Hamburg and the Greens

[edit]

Hi there, are you sure it's not Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen (GAL)? Its the same party and the Alliance '90/The Greens is the name of the wikipedia article. Also, the hamburg website only mentions Bündniss 90/Die Grünen [1], the party website states Bündniss 90/Die Grünen [2]. I think it should be Alliance '90/The Greens. Nice day und tschüß ;-) -- Sebastian scha. (talk) 13:18, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I'm pretty sure the Party in the Senate of Hamburg is called GAL. This stands for Grüne Alternative Liste (=Green Alternative List translation). This Party is only on the Hamburg ballot and only for the Election of the Hamburg Senate. For the general Germanwide election (election of the Bundestag) they are running as Bündniss 90/Die Grünen. Therefore the members of the Green Alternatives are also members of the party Bündniss 90/Die Grünen. But still the party in the Hamburg Senat is called Green Alternativ List. That's the name used in the German Wikipedia, there own homepage, and the official site of the Senate. In the Germany Wikipedia they do also have their own Article in the Germann Wikipedia (the first sentence translated: The Grün-Alternative Liste (short GAL) is a political grouping/party in Hamburg. Furthermore I'm living in Hamburg and that's the name used in the media. So the parties name should be changed in the articles about the Hamburg politics. --Jakob Sch. Okay, on two of your sources, the party has the same logo as Bündniss90/grüne. But you know, I just thought the reader shall be able to find the en.wiki article, there is no article about GAL. So if you want to change it — although the parties are the same — do it. -- Sebastian scha. (talk) 22:15, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I need to correct you again... sorry... but the parties are NOT the same. They are slightly different... the GAL is further left than the Bündnis 90/die Grünen
Sorry I'm not coherent. It's not the matter, if they are more left or green. The Members are members of the same party. The most important different is Green Alternative List and Alliance '90/The Greens. But I'll rest my case here. Happy editing. -- Sebastian scha. (talk) 11:42, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
