Dancing With the Stars Tables

[edit]

I appreciate your efforts to improve the Dancing with the Stars articles, but your addition of the judges' lineup is unnecessary, as the default lineup is given every season at the very beginning of Weekly scores section. We only add a judges' lineup to a particular week if it deviates from the norm (by the presence of a guest judge or absence of a regular judge, for example). Please let me know if you have any questions. Bgsu98 (talk) 22:07, 27 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm, I see what you are saying. My understanding was that the statements "flowed down" until they were changed. But you are saying that you only point out the exceptions, which makes sense. Sorry for the hassle.
Just FYI, I'm parsing these scores as part of a teaching exercise on database design, so my error in logic showed up when I tried to match up the scores with the judges. I will reparse with the 'exception' logic and then post here (rather than make edits) if validation turns up any issues.
Thanks for all the work making these available! Jameshowison (talk) 22:25, 27 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't set the tables up originally, but yes, we cite the normal panel at the beginning of the Scores section and it's understood that unless otherwise noted, the scores for each week match that panel in that order. When there's a guest judge, or one of the regular judges is absent, or even when a guest judge substitutes for a regular judge, then the alternate panel is cited in the section for the particular week where it applies. You can be assured that the first score every time comes from Carrie Ann, and the last score every time comes from Bruno, and in between is where you'll find variations.
