Proposed deletion of Mayor of London's Skyride

[edit]

The article Mayor of London's Skyride has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

content-fork/semi-cut'n'paste of London Freewheel; original content is tagged as advert-like

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DMacks (talk) 14:09, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I see you removed the prod, as is your right, and also improved the article. almost all of it remains promotional, though--giving the detailed time and location of future events is always considered promotional. Giving an extended description of why the event is important because of underlying social problems is promotional as well. Praise of London's landmarks is scarcely needed. As an alternative to deletion, I removed all those parts, but there is not much left. I urge you to consider merging it with the one for the earlier name--and removing promotional language there also. Add some references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, such as newspapers or magazines. Remember to update the language and add additional refs after it takes place. For additional information, please see our FAQ about articles like this on organizations and events.
