Images are an interesting challenge here. The tools menu (on the left) allows you to upload them, but what's permissible has lots of rules, like everything else on Wikipedia. Short answer is you can steer clear of most problems but only uploading pictures you've taken yourself. As for putting images on a page, it's as simple as type [[File:ImageName]], but there are a number of ways to add whiz-bangs to that.
