January 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm PCHS-NJROTC. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Country Boys, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! PCHS-NJROTC (Messages)Have a blessed day. 15:58, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Conflicts of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, JessicaPerkins. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. Editing for the purpose of advertising or promotion is not permitted. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID). Thank you. PCHS-NJROTC (Messages)Have a blessed day. 15:59, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Garry Lee Cody Perkins[edit]

So how does your information get updated if a person's wife can't update the info without having a COI? JessicaPerkins (talk) 16:03, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You can edit it, but be cautious when doing so. I recommend familiarizing yourself with our guidelines for citing sources, our policies on original research, and our official neutral point of view if you are going to edit it. Unfortunately, we can't just take your word for anything you write because we don't know that you are who you claim to be. Also, another option you have is to suggest proposed changes on the article's talk page. PCHS-NJROTC (Messages)Have a blessed day. 16:21, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
