User talk:Jillems
A tag has been placed on Dtools, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. LegoTech·(t)·(c) 23:12, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- AutoCad's been around for a quarter of a century so it's a pretty poor comparison for DTools right now, don't you think? You may want to take a look at Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance :) LegoTech·(t)·(c) 23:30, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- What you need to do is show notability, mercilessly list the articles in industry mags that have covered you rather than just linking to company webpages. Wikipedia:Notability but you might want to also take a look at: Wikipedia:Conflict of interest as some editors have serious problems with people involved with the company writing the article. The tag does not mean that the article will be deleted, it just means that a Wikipedia admin will look at it and see if it falls into policy. LegoTech·(t)·(c) 23:54, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry to take so long to get back to you...I don't know how quickly the admins will get to looking at DTools, but the hangon tag will help...I wouldn't dawdle tho, sometimes they can be pretty quick on the trigger. If you'd like to work on it in a "safer" location you can go to User:Jillems/Sandbox and work on it before bringing it back live. (it shows up red right now as that is how Wikipedia shows links to stuff that doesn't yet exist) LegoTech·(t)·(c) 04:09, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
I got to the admin that deleted the page and had them shoot me a copy...I put it User:Legotech/Sandbox here...feel free to play with it there and I can try to help. I went looking in Google News for you, but didn't find anything in my quick search, but I'm sure you've got much more in the archives there! Let me know what else I can do to help!
