Notability of Daniel Glen Timms

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Daniel Glen Timms requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ←Signed:→Mr. E. Sánchez Get to know me! / Talk to me!←at≈:→ 05:35, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Daniel Glen Timms

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Daniel Glen Timms, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.  X  S  G  05:45, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Daniel Glen Timms

[edit]

Check out WP:MUSIC for Wikipedia's guidelines for a musician's notability. Also check WP:NOTABLE for general guidelines. I believe that for this artist to be included in Wikipedia, you'll need to find things like music reviews or interviews. I don't think he would qualify under the musical guidelines; the easiest way is to either be a member of a notable band or to have two albums released under major or important independent labels.  X  S  G  18:51, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The extent of my research determined that all of the "Press" from DGT's site was written on CD Baby, which doesn't pass the "reliable" nature of a secondary source, at least in my book. I don't think DGT will meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines, so I'm putting the article up for deletion. Don't stress. You'll have the opportunity to state your opinion and you'll have a few days to pull things together and surmount any issues. I'll also try to get you help, because this isn't personal; you've done a great job and I'm confident that I speak for many people when I say that I value your effort in trying to improve Wikipedia.  X  S  G  19:00, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just figured out the talk page, left comments on your page and the deletion page explaining what i added. Please let me know if more is needed.

Cool. I'll take a look in just a moment. First, I wanted to let you know about something that we Wikipedia editors do to make each others' lives easier. Every time we add a comment to a talk page, we end the comment by adding ~~~~. Wikipedia will automatically convert this to a username and a time stamp. This way, we can all see who said what and when it was said. Another thing you might find useful is to know how to indent your comments. You can indent a line by preceding it with a :. If you add multiple :s, it will increase the size of the indent. This is how I've indented this paragraph, and you can see that it makes it easier to follow that this paragraph is a response to your previous paragraph. If you'd like to try these things out, you can practice with them in your sandbox.  X  S  G  03:54, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, thanks for the tips. I added up more outside sources, and more relevant information. Please let me know how it looks.Jimbellizzi (talk) 22:19, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
