[edit]Hello, I'm Donner60. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Casper Van Dien, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Donner60 (talk) 03:33, 22 July 2018 (UTC)
- As you may suspect, much bogus text is inserted to Wikipedia and it can be very sensitive or troublesome when added to a biography of a living person. Usually, self-published and social media sources are not considered good sources by Wikipedia, but an exception can be made for information "about themselves." See Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources#Self-published and questionable sources as sources on themselves. A citation to a reliable publication, on the whole, would be better.
- How to cite sources can be found in the articles Wikipedia:Citing sources and Help:Footnotes. You may find some useful information about biography articles in Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons.
- In general, helpful information about editing Wikipedia can be found on various Wikipedia guideline and policy pages including: Help:Getting started; Wikipedia:Introduction; Wikipedia:Simplified ruleset; Wikipedia:Simplified Manual of Style; Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners; Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources; Wikipedia:Citing sources; Help:Footnotes; Wikipedia:Verifiability; Wikipedia:No original research; Wikipedia:Neutral point of view; Wikipedia:Notability; Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons; Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not; Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Words to watch; Help:Introduction to talk pages; Wikipedia:Copyright Problems and Help:Contents.
