User talk:Jkaharper/2021/January
Hi
[edit]Hi Jkaharper i may have found a death source for Michael Shaw, Baron Shaw of Northstead but I'm not overly sure could you check it over thanks and it only says January 2021 https://osclub.sedberghschool.org/deaths-obituaries/ --ThatBaileyLad (talk) 19:49, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
- Looks reliable to me. Should get a Telegraph write up soon enough to confirm a date! Cheers --Jkaharper (talk) 20:23, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
Death of Marie Harmon
[edit]You reverted the changes regarding the recent death of Marie Harmon and you were correct to do so since I couldn't provide any reliable source. I got the news from a post made by her daughter on Facebook but what if the news never reaches the media? Should the article make readers falsely believe that she's still alive? -- Lyverbe (talk) 14:32, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, something will come eventually. Just be patient. If you wish to speed things up, you can get in touch with the Hollywood Reporter or Deadline via their website and alert them to the Facebook post. They generally then print an obituary. Thanks --Jkaharper (talk) 14:41, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
Last surviving actors / actresses from the Golden Age of Hollywood
[edit]Clearly, you disagree with adding this wikilink to respective bios. Do you think this article [1] should be deleted from Wikipedia? If not, what is the harm in adding the link? EdJF (talk) 15:52, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
- That article was coined by me! It was created because I suggested it years ago on the talk page of List of surviving silent film actors, so please don't point it at me as reason for your repeated vandalism. And yes it is now vandalism – because you're now edit warring with me in reverting the changes I made to the Jacqueline White page. There are two problems with your edits to all these pages. 1) They are NOT "one of the last" when there are literally over 400 of them still alive. By no stretch of the English language is that "one of the last". 2) It's unsourced. There are stricter rules concerning biographies of living persons, so you can't just scribble non-cited trivia across the lede of each respective article. Please stop this and instead find something more constructive to do on the site. Many of these actor pages need tidied up and could use more sources. I kindly request that you tackle something like that rather than plastering pointless unsourced trivia in the ledes! Thanks --Jkaharper (talk) 19:46, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
