Teaching quantum mechanics[edit]

Hi John. Congratulations! This is a valuable initiative.

I can make a few simple comments. I know very little about quantum mechanics so I’m well placed to make a preliminary review. This will be a technical article so WP:Make technical articles understandable will be relevant.

You list some common misconceptions - the first example is “no description for a path for electrons or photons”. To general readers this brief description is ambiguous - it leaves the reader puzzled as to whether QM provides no description for a path, but students imagine a description exists; or students imagine there is no description for a path whereas QM does, in fact, provide one.

You have a section titled “Common Learning Difficulties”. Your use of capital letters in this title is excessive because titles, including titles of sections and sub-sections, are required to be in sentence case (which avoids unnecessary capitalisation: See MOS:TITLECAPS and MOS:CAPS.) Thanks! I applied fixes.
I am hoping you might help us once we start on our project to improve Introduction to quantum mechanics.
Based on positive feedback I am moving my draft in to the main space later today. Johnjbarton (talk) 13:42, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
