Sorry, looks like an admin already deleted it under our criteria for speedy deletion. I might note that a key difference between the articles you cited and the one you wrote is that the articles you cited were not written by the authors of the books. There was no conflict of interest. "But," you might object, "that has nothing to do with the content of the article; that's like an ad hominem complaint." Fair enough. But you need to establish that your book meets our notability guideline for books if you want to convince anyone that it merits an article in an encyclopedia. And you really should try to refrain from creating or editing articles about things with which you are associated. Please see our conflict-of-interest guideline for further information.

If you are able to find Wikipedia articles which fail to meet our notability (or other) guidelines, you are welcome to nominate them for deletion yourself. —Caesura(t) 01:47, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ocean Raton

[edit]

Ocean Raton is a novel by John Manrique that satarizes the Florida real estate bubble burst. The novel is based in South Florida, primarily Pompano Beach, and spans the time period from July 2006 to July 2007. It was released on September 5, 2007 by iUniverse.

Plot Summary

[edit]

Ocean Raton is a satire of the 2006-2007 Florida real estate market collapse along with the culture and characters behind it. The story revolves around a struggling condominium in Pompano Beach and the lengths the developer, salespeople, buyers, and assorted characters will go to find "success."

The novel further contrasts and compares the Florida land boom of the 1920s and eventual market collapse to the attitudes and conditions surrounding the 2006-2007 Florida real estate market. Manrique further supports this parody with his own experiences and observations as a Florida real estate marketing executive with WCI Communities, Inc.
