feedback for the fire class[edit]

I think the Fire triangle article is a great choice for addition. This could even be your chosen article for the class. For example, that article is appropriately written about all kinds of fire, not only wildland fire. I think the following changes could be made:

  1. Merge all the existing information about putting out fires into a single section, maybe give it a heading of Suppressing fire
  2. Add a brief section for wildland fire with lots of wikilinks to section-headings in the Wildland Fire article (fuels, ignition, etc).
  3. Add another section for the multi-scale fire triangles as occurs in the book. Upload an image of this multi scale triangle. Then you can add discussion around the figure. The image in the textbook is similar to this image: http://www.pnas.org/content/102/50/17912/F1.expansion.html

That image from the Moritz paper is open source; you can make a direct link to it: http://www.pnas.org/content/102/50/17912/F1.large.jpg
Let me know if you like this idea or choose another topic for the class article. Answer.to.the.rock (talk) 16:42, 4 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

peer feedback[edit]

This is a good start on your article. Adding a section addressing fire triangles at different scales (flame, wildfire, fire regime) would be a valuable addition to the article. Note that there is a subsection discussing Fire Tetrahedron, which may be confused with the fire diamond you mentioned. I think focusing on each of the different spatial/temporal scales of fire triangles would provide the greatest improvement to the article. Not sure what you’re getting at with the wildland fire definition. Perhaps elaborating on the differences in fire triangle depending on if the fire is occurring in a natural area or near civilization would be a good section to add as well. There is already an existing article addressing fire suppression, so be sure to reference that if you expand on the section titled “Extinction of the fire”. --Impicklerick (talk) 22:42, 19 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
