Reflections/RE: Topics to edit[edit]

Through exploration independently of Wikipedia, but still relevant to the contemporary context in-class, I have considering contributing to the following: 1. Harald Szeemann 2. Richard Serra 3. Julian Opie 4. Dieter Rams 5. Sigmar Polke 6. Joseph Beuys __________ After further recon through what is available on Wikipedia I have decided I would prefer to work on the Szeemann page. I believe it would be substantial contribution, of which many will appreciate, and there are enough research materials available to do the article justice. It is an under-developed biography and has much room for growth. As well there is a recognized legacy that connects this issue to other pertaining subjects in the field of contemporary arts and curating. As well, many of the other subjects of research are still living and therefore it is more challenging to contribute the page. Many are also very popular subjects and are already well developed so my contribution would be superficial and may take the role of someone who would be of better service. For these reasons I believe it would be best for me to work on the Szeemann article, because probably no one else will anytime soon. What do you think? I think that sounds terrific. I also LOVE the idea of you bringing in materials you're already working on in other classes. Did you add that whole list of exhibitions?! Also, could you add an initial bibliography of sources you might be interested in using? Maybe just a few to get started? Aolivex (talk) 19:04, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Outline/Bibliography RE: Szeemann[edit]

1. Ideally, contributions will be made towards: Personal Life: (developing the context of Szeemann's upbringing, family, and social life as well as his non-professional pursuits)/ Education: (developing the context of primary and secondary education as well as highlighting any relevant activities, opportunities, or relationships in this context)/ Exhibitions: (developing a more extensive overview of known exhibitions curated by Szeemann, there are many of them and this would be appropriate for Wikipedia as a referential tool. Personally, I have trouble remembering timelines)/ Notable Exhibitions: (developing a more comprehensive elaboration in the context of certain exhibitions (such as documenta 5) which are frequently searched for their significance) Legacy: (this area could use a little development for the various projects that have been recreated or else emulated with direct allusion to Szeemann's projects. As well, he is a figure of frequent discourse in the arts community and as such it is important to represent his contribution recognized after his death) Quotes: (there are presently no visible quotes by Szeemann, there are many interesting ones recorded which adequately reflect his biography and are a valid referential resource)

Close paraphrasing[edit]

Hi! One of your edits, here, got picked up as a close match with existing text. I checked it out, and it looks like you've done close paraphrasing of the cited LA Times article, which is not allowed on Wikipedia. Please clean that up as soon as possible. Thanks! --Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:12, 13 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

*Thanks for the fyi, I had rushed to put some of this up for a deadline. I anticipate to have them cleaned up tonight. Thanks again. (JonathonTWeber41 (talk) 19:35, 13 April 2015 (UTC))[reply]
