Welcome![edit]

Hello, Joshdatzep, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent contributions seem to be advertising or for promotional purposes. Wikipedia does not allow advertising. For more information on this, please see:

Thank you Aristophanes68. I appreciate the welcome. The recent posts aren't meant to be promotional, but to offer free resources directly related to that person to teachers and educators. We want to promote the free resource and its connection to the Wikipedia entry, but not necessarily our organization. Would these recent posts be better if they didn't directly mention the Zinn Education Project? Joshdatzep (talk) 19:26, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
As you appear to be part of a cultural institution, you might want to check out Wikipedia:GLAM/Getting started. Adding lots of external links to your own institution is generally not looked upon so kindly here, but the resources you're adding seem to be high-quality, so I'll leave them be. Also, who is "we" and "our"? Shared accounts are not allowed. It might be a good idea to create a user page describing who you are and what you're here for. Hi Graham87, thanks for your note. I'm sorry if I'm adding external links that are generally not looked upon so kindly, but I am really just trying to add educational and informative things that will hopefully help people get a better, more fuller grasp of the things they're searching for. The "we" in question is the Zinn Education Project, which is a free resource for radical history for educators and everyone else interested. It's not my purpose to promote the Zinn Education Project, so I don't mention them in many of the external links I've added, but instead to just share these resources so that others can access them. Can I keep adding a few more, or would you rather I not do so? Joshdatzep (talk) 16:34, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have any relationship with the project? If so, you should stop adding such links. Graham87 07:35, 3 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I'll stop. Sorry. Joshdatzep (talk) 16:31, 3 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

November 2022[edit]

Information icon Hello, Joshdatzep, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia. Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who misuse multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. It's just this one account, thanks. 2601:1C0:CD00:C760:A9CC:ADCA:525B:88A3 (talk) 16:38, 3 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Denying it will not help. 0xDeadbeef→∞ (talk to me) 16:40, 3 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Several different Teaching for Change interns in the past have been caught adding a bunch of Zinn-Ed links. I'm late to the party here though, so I don't have any information about recent activity or SOCKs of this account. DMacks (talk) 05:34, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest with Zinn Education Project?[edit]

I see your edit history mostly consists of adding links to the Zinn Education Project. Are you being compensated to make these edits? If you, you need to comply with the policies described at WP:PAIDEDIT. If you are not being compensated, but do have a connection to the Zinn Education Project, then you should consult Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines. Violating paid editing or conflict of interest policies and guidelines may result in a loss of editing rights for your account. Hog Farm Talk 18:01, 13 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'll further add that regardless of whether you have a COI, repeatedly adding that link is link spam. Please stop. CaptainEek Edits Ho Cap'n! 19:38, 13 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Deadbeef and CaptainEek, I'm sorry that my contributions are being flagged. Honestly, I find the resources helpful and figure others would find them helpful too. The links I'm sharing are for free resources (granted, the majority at to the Zinn Education Project) that are directly related to the Wikipedia pages I'm adding them onto. They're free and useful. Isn't that the point of Wikipedia too, to provide free, useful resources to people looking to learn more? Would it help if I added other resources that weren't always to the Zinn Education Project?

You have shown yourself to be highly untrustworthy by breaking promises above. You are not welcome here. Graham87 04:38, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

And you've never actually answered the question as to whether you have a conflict of interest re the Zinn Education Project. Graham87 04:40, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
They seem to have, though not the exact nature of the connection. DMacks (talk) 04:55, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
