Manchester vandal

[edit]

Thanks Andrew for your support on this. I'm glad you have reported Rob Right to the administrators for using all those different ISPs as he is blatantly abusing the good faith ethic that Wikipedia wants to uphold. I have also contacted JzA84 to see if he can help. Regards.GRB1972 11:42, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Would that be JzA84 another partisan Manchester edit warrer by any chance? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 79.73.229.136 (talkcontribs).

Hi Andrew. I know he's annoying, but getting cross with the admins isn't going to get us anywhere. Try and keep a cool head and don't let him rile you - easy to say, not always easy to do. Regards, Mr Stephen 13:33, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have blocked the latest two IPs (pretty pointless, I know) and semi-protected the main Manchester article. I would echo what the above poster said; unfortunately, blocking a Tiscali range that wide (79.64.x.x - 79.79.x.x) would cause massive collateral damage. I know it's frustrating, but what do you suggest? Blocking that entire IP range would block anyone using Tiscali in whatever particular geographical area the vandal is operating from. I will, however, try to look into alternatives. ELIMINATORJR 14:12, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Per the latest conversation on ANI, the 79.73.x.x range has been blocked. Please post at ANI if he expands out of that range (I'll be offline for a while). ELIMINATORJR 14:44, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for reverting what someone had added to my talk page. I've already warned them per refactoring others' talk page comments. Thanks for this. -JacќяМ ¿Qué? 15:18, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
