Jack, there is this interesting premise that there is a lack of some evangelical version of the Bloggernacle.
To which my reaction is…Really? I mean, I myself am not an evangelical and — in any case — I simply don’t know if there is or not. But my basic assumption is that, geez, there must surely be in existence Web forums comparable with the types that ya dig so much within the Latter-day Saints’ blogosphere. Right? ——-
I don’t haunt — purposely click over to — evangelical on-line publications at all; but it took me all of about a nanosecond to brainstorm up what to throw in my Google bubble.
Christianity Today!
Aha! So, boom! I (A) google Christianity Today (B) click on their website’s button for the “general interest” blog posts, and (C) end up at this publication’s “Live Blog” ( christianitytoday.com/ctliveblog) the lead blogpost of which is : “Was Michael Jackson a Christian”?
ing about where in the heck I should look to discover a blog outpost of the that I theorized must be existent, what wave of realization washed into my brain … was …
And there has just gotta be a lot of blogs that are likewise outposts of this, um…envangi-”Nacle”…that are completely independent from evangelical print-magazines, as well. And I could probably put some Calvinist theological terms in a search engine along with the word blog and click on Google’s search-bar for “blogs” and come up with a whole lot of examples of the same, too.

Comment by Justmeherenow on June 30th 2009 at 2:35 am OK, I typed in saved by grace, then I hit Google’s “news” button, and then I hit (down at the bottom of the column on the page’s lefthand sidebar) the button for “blogs.” And the counter says there are over third of a million Google hits for that combo.
So, I click the first one. It’s a book review on the blog Crossway: “Grace and legalism from [the book Religion Saves.“]
Comment by Justmeherenow on June 30th 2009 at 2:42 am OK, maybe Christianity Today and Crossway blog are not evangelical but are mainstream. Still, even so, I bet I COULD find blogs that were evangelical.
(OK, now I have to look up Christianity Today on Wikipedia and see if it is evangelical or main line.)
