feedback for the fire class

[edit]
  1. Adding information about the Canoe fire would be fine for a short addition. You should have links to the Ecology section of the article on redwoods, which nicely summarizes the role of fire (with a link to a Ecosphere paper on importance of fire to redwood abundance). Please go ahead and add this..a few sentences would be fine.
  2. Thanks for looking over the soil carbon article. What is your idea for your main article for the class?

Hi Kate. Here are some brief comments:

  • Lead section seems to cover it, though the last sentence doesn't flow with the rest--try to work it into the paragraph, probably near the top.
  • Of course add in citations, at the end of each section/subsection even if it carries into the next.
  • Under Pyro framework, fire regime types, such as....define or give examples or something brief so I don't have to leave the page (through the hyperlink) to understand it
  • Under Fuel Loads, second sentence fragment
  • Under methodology, include how the spatial data is used--how it's analyzed--beyond just what the data sources are.
  • Under Climate-Wildfire Relationships: first two sentences about satellite imagery doesn't seem to belong here; define NPP in-text (not just with hyperlink); make the connection between NPP and climate explicitly--since that's the section header;
  • Under Other Influences--you may just not have added yet, but it seems you'd need more than just deforestation to justify plural use of influences, and subsection title
  • It's looking good!
