Method

To locate the peaks I have taken bearings on the various peaks from more than one location. I have confirmed the location of the peaks that are visible by plotting the bearings from two locations to see where they cross. I used a marine sextant to find the bearings by measuring the angle between a bearing of known direction (from observation point to marine navigation aid such as a lighthouse) and the observed peak. For most peaks I have found the names in the Canadian Mountain Encyclopedia

From each location a series of a series of images was captured and then combined into panoramic images using hugin.

Estero Peak

From Buckley Bay, I took this bearing. From Qualicum Beach I took this bearing. The bearings cross slightly short of the location of Estero Peak but with the close angle and having rounded sextant readings, the location of this peak, the closest to the cross of the bearings, seems clear. The bearings are from Qualicum Beach and Buckley Bay (QB and BB below) --KenWalker | Talk 17:11, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
