Project Rygar

[edit]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Project Rygar, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. ffm talk 13:32, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Projectrygar1.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Projectrygar1.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:03, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Kebabed requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. t'shaélchat 11:48, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you'll look at the history of said page you will notice that you did create the page. -t'shaélchat 12:02, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, that's true but I most definitely did not, as you can see it was an edit to delete the page using Twinkle, how come the original user is not there? KimiNewt (talk) 12:05, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Probably because you nominated it for deletion at the same time Tnxman deleted it. Twinkle sucks at catching edit conflicts like that. No worries, though, as it's gone again. t'shaélchat 12:06, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wildlife articles

[edit]

Hi, am extremely busy at present. Basically all of the articles should be written in prose and filled out. They were started as lists purely for the reason I didn't have time to write them and they definately needed articles. If you can remove lists and write them in prose using references go for it! Parenthesis v. authority+year

[edit]

Please note that the use of parenthesis versus authority+year has a meaning, and there is a difference between cases where it is lacking, and cases where it is used. In cases where the species-level taxon was described as is (compared to how it is now), there should never be a parenthesis. If a species-level taxon was described as being in another genus (compared to now), there should be a parenthesis. For example, when Callorhinchus callorhynchus was described by Linnaeus in 1758, he described it as Chimaera callorynchus. Consequently:

  • Incorrect: Callorhinchus callorhynchus Linnaeus, 1758
  • Correct: Callorhinchus callorhynchus (Linnaeus, 1758)

Note, however, that in all taxa above species-level (genera, families, etc), authority+year should never be in parenthesis. This follows the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature. 62.107.237.72 (talk) 12:42, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was not aware of that, thanks a lot and sorry for the mishap there. KimiNewt (talk) 14:01, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
