Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at League of Legends: Wild Rift, you may be blocked from editing. Over the course of several years, you've repeatedly made the same edit to this article without providing any sourcing to meet WP:V and WP:RS. Doing so again will result in a block. -- ferret (talk) 16:50, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 2 weeks for persistently adding unsourced or poorly sourced content. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  -- ferret (talk) 16:58, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I just submitted a change and was creating a talk post to discuss the change and I was blocked before I could create the talk post. The edit summary said to briefly describe my changes, so I thought the correct thing to do was to provide a source for my changes in the talk page. It looks like that was the incorrect thing to do. Please unblock me and I will make the change again and provide sources. The text of the talk post I was composing when I was blocked is below. --- Hi I am the original game director and design director of Wild Rift. Both the Director and Designer credits have been set to other people. As a live service game, who is in the director role, and the design lead role, will change from time to time. I have just edited the Designer credit of this page to set me as the credited individual. I am not sure what the specific etiquette regarding live service games is (original vs current) however World of Warcraft for example lists Rob Pardo, Tom Chilton, and Jeff Kaplan as designers and all 3 of these individuals are no-longer Blizzard employees. It thus seems to me like proper etiquette is to credit who was in that role in the time the project was originally created. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_of_Warcraft Neither I nor Brian Feeney (the person who replaced me as Design Director when I left the project) are currently working on Wild Rift. https://www.linkedin.com/in/therealchristina/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/brian-feeney-7b446113/ I have limited edits to myself, but it feels like probably more accurate would be Producer - Michael Chow - the original EP of Wild Rift Designer - Christina Norman - the original DD of Wild Rift

Decline reason:

Per statement below that you will wait for the block to expire. — Daniel Case (talk) 12:03, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Editing content you are personally involved in, especially to insert yourself repeatedly, is problematic for a number of reasons. Please read our conflict of interest guidelines. Sourcing has to be provided in the article and prose itself, not in edit summaries (none was given) or in talk page posts. Nor should edits be reinstated just because you posted to the talk page. It should wait for feedback from other editors. Unfortunately, no suitable sourcing has been provided yet, as Linkedin profiles are WP:PRIMARY user-generated sources that we cannot use. Frankly, the topic of credits in video game infoboxes is a somewhat contentious one with on-going discussion. I've removed all of the credits that lacked any sourcing or prose mention. Infoboxes are meant to give snapshots of relevant information to the reader. Non-notable individuals (in Wikipedia terms, see WP:N) who are neither sourced nor mentioned in the article prose provide no context to the reader. -- ferret (talk) 17:14, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the clarification. I will wait for my block to expire, and then review the page. If I make edits I'll provide non-linkedin sources. Kitaekatt (talk) 17:29, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I also will explicitly disclose my conflict of interest in any subsequent edits as indicated in the policy. Kitaekatt (talk) 17:31, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'll actually start a talk thread instead of editing directly and see if that drives improved main page results before resorting to directly editing. Kitaekatt (talk) 17:31, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, for this particular topic, that is the best course due to the COI. I watchlist the article and will gladly review suggested changes. You may also find WP:VG/S useful, which is a list of vetted reliable sources (and unreliable ones) for video game topics, which I'm sure you're familiar with many of them. There is a custom google search linked there that may help. -- ferret (talk) 17:33, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
