Bug reports[edit] I haven't come across this, so it does sound like a bug. The place to report bugs is https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/. Based on a quick search, I didn't find anything reported that looked like what you're describing. Is it showing up on multiple browsers? sorry, my warnings were a little bit rude. Per WP:NDASH, if you use in scores, like tennis scores, hyphens instead of en-dashes (6-2, 6-2), it is regarded as incorrect; there should be an en-dash instead of a hyphen (6–2, 6–2), because the "–" can be replaced with "versus". See WP:HYPHEN when you should use hyphens. You can either copy-and-paste the sign from the sign box below, or you can use either –, – or just write hyphens and then correct it with the Dash Tool by GregU. Strange and unexplained changes to articles on French communes[edit] Hi.
I've just happened to visit a number of articles on French communes that I created, or added information to, some years ago. And I've noticed that some cited text that I added, along with the cites, has disappeared from all of them. Likewise the links to intercommulaties in the infoboxes have all vanished. And that a rather odd link to INSEE's home page has appeared hard-coded into the references section.
Reviewing the history, it appears that you made these changes back in 2009, without any explanatory comment. I know that is a long while ago, but could you remember why you removed these texts and cites, which seem to me to be prefectly reasonable.
The article's I've noticed this on include:
Adilly La Chapelle-Bertrand Châtillon-sur-Thouet Pompaire but judging by your edit history, may well include many others.

Thanks for your reply on my talk page. To respond in detail: 1. INSEE links in the References section: Since most of the basic information on a commune page comes from INSEE, I was hoping to use the INSEE home page and let the user search for the commune. With time, I have learned that it is not all that easy to find the information on INSEE, so more recently, I have switched to linking to the Chiffres clés page for that commune and calling the link "INSEE statistics." This avoids multiple footnotes leading to the same place. Yes I did notice that when I looked at one of your more recent changes. It is certainly an improvement, but is there a reason you add links directly into the references section, rather than using the (by now pretty universal in WP) ref tags and cite templates, which if done properly also resolves the multiple footnotes issue. Take a look at (eg) Besso, Ticino to see what I mean. 2. Deleted text and links: I have consistently deleted broken links to the canton and intercommunality topics that don't exist. When these pages have been created, the links should be recreated. I'm a firm believer in the value of redlinks, so I wouldn't support such deletion; but I know a lot of Wikipedian's disagree, so I'm not pushing that point. But in the cases I called out above, I know that the intercommunality article existed, because I created it at or about the same time as I linked it in the article (June 2008). Happy to believe it was an accident, though. I have also deleted text that is out of date, a restatement of information in the Infobox, or irrelevant to English-speaking readers. That is ok. My editing style has changed and (I hope) improved over the last four years, and I probably would not have duplicated this information like that if I wrote the articles now. I'll look again at the articles I've re-edited in that light. However, I request that you not undo my changes because I have made other (sometimes small) changes that need to stay in. I know I did that in one case; although I think I then re-added all your other changes. Arette[edit] Hi Ksnow. I'm a little perplexed. On two occasions now you've edited the Arette article and replaced a properly formatted table with an inferior one, removing reference sources and prose at the same time (e.g. here). Additionally, you haven't provided an edit summary on each occasion. I don't see how these are constructive edits. Perhaps you could explain your rationale? Doug Owens[edit] Probably both the "Doug Owens" and "Douglas Owens" redirects should be changed, but it depends on whether an article is created about the son. I'm not sure it's routine to create pages about losing U.S. House candidates. He was at least a major-party nominee, but I don't know anything about him. If he hasn't gained attention for anything other than running, information might be a little thin. Incidentally, do you know if he's a Junior? Or does he have a different middle name (or a different first name)?
