Srijem issues

[edit]

The toponym of Srijem or Srem or Szerem or Sirmium or whatever needs to have a single article, because it's the same region. We cannot split it up just because of political quibbles over what's the "right" name.

I had initially made a small neutral article that acknowledged both current names. The decision to pick "Srem" as the one in the title arose from the simple fact that most of it is in Serbia and not in Croatia. After insistence from you and other users, it's now at "Srem/Srijem" so that neither side is offended.

The article Szerem does not talk of the region in general. It talks of one particular county of the Kingdom of Hungary that existed during one particular time period. Granted, its name is too generic - I'll move that too now.

Done now. BTW, I've already said on Talk:Srem/Srijem why Syrmia is not a good choice - it's not common English, so it's against Wikipedia:Naming conventions. --Joy [shallot] 14:25, 26 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

green text

[edit]

Please don't color text green in Wikipedia. --Joy [shallot] 09:43, 17 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I used the color for marking. Shall I use another color, or not at all, what do You say? I'm opened for suggestions.Kubura 14:12, 19 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
