Paper industry in Maine

[edit]

CT55555 Thanks for doing Old Town paper mill! Related to that, there's a whole book about the impacts of the Rumford Mill Mill Town: Reckoning with What Remains by Kerri Arsenault. NYT review. Also this:[1]. I think there are over a half dozen mills in Maine with similar issues, and I wonder if a page for Paper industry in Maine would be warranted?

Thanks again, I hope it never feels like I'm taking your efforts for granted on these topics. I only mention them because it seems like you are happy to have the tips. Larataguera (talk) 11:22, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Our own article on the Penobscot River says dioxins are "discharged from seven mills located close to the Tribal community of Penobscot people". It also mentions mercury, which I know is in issue arising from paper industry in Mercury contamination in Grassy NarrowsLarataguera (talk) 11:29, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm very happy for the tips. I'll look into Rumford Mill and an article about the paper industry in Maine. CT55555(talk) 12:22, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
