Trouvelot and Gypsy Moths

Hello. It's good to see an expert show interest in the article on Gypsy moths. I have made a post on the talk page which you might be interested in. In short, there are at least two books which describe Trouvelot wanting to hybridize gypsy moths with silk worms. You mentioned a lack of evidence. I have no expertise (or much interest) to contest this, but without a source debunking it then someone is eventually likely to add the fact back into the article. J1812 (talk)

This is an interesting case, I did look at the matter awhile back, but I do have a scan of the page of my source 'The Gypsy MOth: Research Toward Integrated Pest Management from the U.S. Department of Agriculture from 1981.
