I have read the guidelines that apply to biographies of living people, and others, and I am new to wiki. Disclosure: I am a paid editor, my client being the subject of the article, Alex Dreyfoos (AWD). I wrote his biography, Passion & Purpose (2015), carefully researched and fully approved by him. At 84, this engineer mind wants to be sure his legacy is accurate. The kinds of edits I would like to make follow:

  • adding material about missing aspects of his life
  • clarifying existing facts: bio information cited from many sources were supplied by AWD or his representatives. Though generally correct, they can be MORE correct with minor changes. (Examples: School of the Arts, Sailfish Marina, or MIT.) Would it be best to edit what exists and add a second citation to such statements? At first I thought certainly the subject would be considered an improved source. He certainly knows best when events occurred, etc. But I see that's not assumed, so if I need to negotiate each change with prior editors, I will enumerate them carefully.

As to neutrality, I do not plan to embellish with "tales." AWD commissioned me for his biography after I did his oral history because of my research. He turns to me for important writing now because I have become an expert on his life. I hope I have followed procedure here. I will await feedback for a bit before making any changes. Thank you.
