A tag has been placed on Stirpes, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is an article about a certain website, blog, forum, or other web content that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles, as well as notability guidelines for websites. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page, and put a note on Talk:Stirpes. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
Notability of Stirpes
A tag has been placed on Stirpes, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Bookworm857158367 15:28, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
If you want the article to remain, I suggest that you find some published articles that discuss the Web site and add citations. Otherwise, it will most certainly be deleted. To answer your question, yes, I think it would be better to delete articles about Web sites that don't have proven notability. Don't remove speedy delete tags. Instead, post a "hold on" message and explain why it shouldn't be deleted on the talk page. --Bookworm857158367 15:51, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
Again -- post a hold on comment on the page and explain why you think it shouldn't be deleted. I'm not an administrator and I don't decide whether it should be deleted or not. I have some concerns about its notability that would be alleviated if you found some PUBLISHED articles in a newspaper or magazine about this site. It sounds like it's probably fairly controversial, so surely there must be some. I don't think another web site counts, no.--Bookworm857158367 17:56, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
