December 2023[edit]

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Low (David Bowie album), you may be blocked from editing. – zmbro (talk) (cont) 17:04, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I really do not understand why you have contacted me nor your accusation nor who you are. Are you Wikipedia’s official moderator? Why do you get to decide which users content is used? Do you know that several years ago this Berlin Trilogy used to be called Eno Trilogy even though this was incorrect until I corrected it. It is clear that Tony Visconti is the producer of these albums and not Brian Eno. Yes Eno played keyboards but his contribution is overhyped by his fans. It is factually correct to state that Bowie collaborated with Visconti. If you wish to state that he also collaborated with Eno then all musicians such as Alomar should also be listed as collaborators as there is no reason to particularly single out Eno. Consensus is WP's moderator, and your removal of Eno as a collaborator doesn't have consensus. No-one is suggesting Eno was a producer, but I think you'll find reliable sources support him being a key collaborator, more so than the other musicians. Of course if you can find reliable sources to back your contention that Eno's part is overhyped then by all means bring them to the talk pages of the relevant articles and discuss it -- don't edit war. I am not "edit war" I had thought that the point of Wikipedia is that people edit and publish. Just because something is published does not mean that it is a consensus opinion. How do the Wikipedia staff know what is an is not a consensus opinion? I have seen far too many interviews with famous people who say that there is a huge amount of inaccuracies on Wikipedia. 2A02:C7C:5620:CE00:92D:564F:C27:CB11 (talk) 16:01, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What does that have to do with the issue at hand? The issue is that you're edit warring and refusing to discuss why you're doing so, which is against WP's policies. According to most sources I've read, the three albums were all made in collaboration with Eno; that's a widely known fact. Visconti produced all three, yes. But Eno was responsible for a) most of the instrumentals on Low and "Heroes", and b) Lodger's exotic weirdness through his Oblique Strategy cards. You're acting like the articles are saying Eno produced them, which is not true. They're saying they were made in collaboration with Eno. So your "corrections" are invalid. – zmbro (talk) (cont) 16:31, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Eno was not responsible for the most of the instrumentals on Low. He has one credit for co-writing just one song Warszawa. We have actual credits on the album that are actual facts. We then have 'information' provided by many sources some of which may or may not be correct. This is what we are discussing. When I changed the Wikipedia section called "Eno Trilogy" title to "Berlin Trilogy" several years ago nobody challenged me and this title persists until today.
I have worked in the music industry for the past 40 years. It's incredibly arrogant for anyone at Wikipedia to seemingly claim that they know all known facts and only they can approve edits.
I made a donation to Wikipedia the other day but shall not repeat this as being hounded off of a website is not what I was expecting to happen after doing an edit. 2A02:C7C:5620:CE00:92D:564F:C27:CB11 (talk) 16:47, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
