Some one has decided to block my edit of the lost order section, apparently because he or she is ignorant of the historical facts; precisely the issue, Did Robert Chilton "pen" the lost order. The myth, as quoted by wikipedia, is that Chilton did "pen" the lost order. The reality is plainly that he did not. Go to americancivilwar.com and click on the article "Lee's Ruse of War." Then click on the sub file, "Who Wrote the Lost Order: Not Chilton." You will then view authenicated examples of Chilton's handwriting and his signature culled from national depositories. You then compare the examples to the script of McClellan's copy of the lost order. The comparsion makes indisputedly clear to any reasonably intelligent person that the handwriting and signature on Mac's copy DOES NOT match the proven examples of Chilton's handwriting and signature. Therefore, there is not rational basis for you to persist in adhering to silly myth regurigated endless by profit seeking writers. Doing so, merely makes Wikipedia look like a silly exercise, rather than a serious effort to establish historical truth.Lostorder (talk) 15:48, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
