Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Lumbercroc, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent contributions, such as your edit to the page Murder of Elizabeth Olten, have removed content without an explanation. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox rather than in articles.
If you still have questions, there is a new contributors' help page, or you can and someone will be along to answer it shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia:

- The above was a standard welcoming template, now for a more personal note. I have no reason to doubt your claim of being Elizabeth Olten's family, and I can only offer my deepest condolences. Unfortunately, the event has received significant coverage by news media, and so it is a subject significant enough for a Wikipedia article. Deleting the article's references as you did is considered disruptive and may lead to you being blocked by an administrator. I'm sorry, but there just isn't a way to delete an article in the way you want it deleted. creffett (talk) 01:50, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
- To piggyback off of this, the best way to deal with this, if you have good standing to do so, is to submit a request for oversight at WP:RFO. Removing content from the wiki directly will only be reverted due to the media coverage of the event. The wikimedia foundation has discretion and may consider a request to redact or retract some or all information -- but it's not something that can be undertaken by one editor directly. [edit]Hello, I'm Slazenger. I noticed that you removed topically-relevant content from Murder of Elizabeth Olten. However, Wikipedia is not censored. Please do not remove or censor information that directly relates to the subject of the article. If the content in question involves images, you have the option to configure Wikipedia to hide images that you may find offensive. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. --Slazenger (Contact Me) 02:17, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
