Milan Lucic

[edit]

Hey there, I noticed your recent contribution to Milan Lucic's article pertaining to a potential girlfriend. Unfortunately, I had to delete it; the nature of Wikipedia is that any disputable information that is not properly cited has to be removed (Wikipedia:Verifiability). This is especially enforced with articles pertaining to living persons. I encourage you to find a proper source for the edit in question, otherwise it has to remain omitted.

Personally, I also just don't see girlfriends as significant or appropriate material, as ice hockey players (or anyone for that matter) can have an endless list of girlfriends in their lifetime. If you do find a source, however, feel free to present a competing argument.

Hope nothing is taken personally. Thanks and welcome to Wikipedia! Orlandkurtenbach (talk) 05:17, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Granted, it is entirely possible that the information you've added is correct, but I hope you can understand how word of mouth is not a sufficient source. In regards to the significance of girlfriends in pro athetes' articles, I seem to find information pertaining to mostly wives and immediate family. The argument of whether or not it is signicant information, however, is moot in the absence of an appropriate source. Orlandkurtenbach (talk) 00:14, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
