You have said: "This is an open source project that could benefit from promoting." That's exactly why I have nominated the article for deletion; Wikipedia is meant to be an encyclopedia, which is a compendium of existing knowledge, not a means of making something known. (Use of Wikipedia for promotional purposes is expressly against the project policies.) - Mike Rosoft (talk) 15:57, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
- While using Wikipedia for commercial advertisements is strictly prohibited, any kind of promotional (even for non-commercial/open source/charitable endeavours) is out of the project scope. (Again, see the policy on "What Wikipedia is not"; in particular, it is not a hosting service, nor an indiscriminate collection of information.) Coverage in reliable third-party sources is the primary inclusion (notability) criterion.
So far, your project seems to have attracted little outside coverage. If that's the case, then creating an article in hope that it will help attract users and reviewers would be to put the cart before the horse. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 05:17, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
