Renaming of German-name pages[edit]

Hi Macherman. I've just noticed you changed the name of the Landesman disambiguation page to Landesmann. And looking through your contribution history, I see you've done similar renamings of other pages, whereby you've changed a page name from the Anglicised form to the German form.

A problem is that, in the English Wikipedia, the Anglicised form often seems to be the predominant one. For example, searching on Landesman produces 176 results, whereas searching on Landesmann only produces 16 results. Furthermore, even searching on the German Wikipedia produces more results for Landesman than Landesmann.

I appreciate that the German form may be viewed as more correct in some way, but the usual rule in (in the English Wikipedia at least) is that the predominant form should be used. Personally I don't particularly care whether it's Landesman or Landesmann, and I'm not going to bother having it undone. However, I think you should first ask on the appropriate Talk pages before doing any similar renaming. --A bit iffy (talk) 10:47, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
