Vandalism of two proven studies[edit]
This user has reverted edits throughout many pages of Colombia that use two studies to examine the Colombian population and replace it with one that this user thinks is more accurate despite the study labeling Colombia as more European than Argentina, which isn’t true for obvious reasons. This user may or may not be related to Peterrouche, who has also done the same things. Colombia is a multiethnic country, filled with indigenous peoples that span to the pre columbian days where they numbered 5-6 million and currently number about the same from a few studies and self identification surveys. There are sources to prove that. As well to the Afro Colombians that were brought during Spanish rule of Colombia whos population sits at roughly 10 million. This user fails to acknowledge the diversity of the country and wants to revert two proven studies with one that fits his opinion before trying to make a reason as to why. - There is absolutely no part in any study done by PLOS that shoes Colombia as more European the argentina. You are lying. In the 2015 PLOS study where 6 countries are compared, argentina is shown to have an average of 67% European dna on average, almost 10% more then Colombia. Colombia has always had less Indigenous peoples then then lost South American countries, this is proven by the larger presence of Afro Colombians. In countries where indigenous populations were lower like cuba, Dominican Republic etc african slaves were brought to replace them in labor. That is basic history. There is absolutely no official count by the government that states Afro Colombians are (20%) of the population or that Indigenous Colombians are (10%). When it comes to self identification, there is no study bigger then an oficial census. A separate study conducted by the same agency already conducted a test with Colombia’s white population and the numbers were vastly different then the ones conducted by PLOS fro Colombians as a whole. Also, it is worth mentioning that about 80% of the population lives in the Andean region, meaning that a study measuring any major city from that region is more likely to grasp the average Colombian dna then a study weighting a sample from choco for example. - No they haven’t, that is outdated rhetoric, new studies confirm Colombia not only has a large population of indigenous peoples and Afro Colombians but that the population of pre Colombian Colombia was 5-6 million, stop reverting my edits and try to come up with a consensus or be reported for continued vandalism and edit warring. You can use those studies for white Colombians rather than mestizo Colombians as white Colombians are considered Colombians with more than 50-60% European dna. Also considering the politics of Colombia, it makes sense for not many people to identify as Afro Colombian or indigenous, they are actively massacred by the government so they choose not to identify as anything. The official Colombian government can be very corrupt at times due to Colombians past history. Afro Colombians used to be 20% of the census until they were listed as 10% in the 2018 census, there are many studies made that show and prove this and you are refusing to look at the facts and the real truth to it and instead revert edits that you don’t agree with solely because you want Colombia to be perceived as a majority European country. - I am not saying the Colombian government massacres the ethnic minorities using the census, that does not make sense in any way. I am saying the reason ethnic minorities refuse to identify themselves as indigenous or Afro Colombian is due to the constant discrimination they face from the government and the country as a whole, it has been proven within their own Wikipedia pages, and accusing me of lying and “using conspiracy theories” to back up my claim is not appropriate for a Wikipedia editor and absolutely not true, I am only listing common fact that has been proven. - I have provided an explanation within talk:Mestizo Colombians I would like you to explain why studies covering university students and staff and upper class Colombians is more appropriate for covering the general population than one conducted to those in the entire country, weighted by region and department population. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
