Cyst Contents?

[edit]

My doctor today diagnosed a sebaceous cyst on my neck under my chin. However, having had this particular problem many times before, I do not see anything within the "sebaceous cyst" article that matches my symptom.

I know exactly what the "cyst"[?] I have now looks like because I have had many like it. The so-called "cyst" will be a small [ca. 2 mm long], white, very hard, pear-shaped object with a sharp tip that appears to me to be a fossilised hair follicle that starts out as a hard lump, eventually becomes swollen up to small glass marble size soft mass with a harder centre, painful/itchy, & what I interpret as being infected because puss surrounds the hard, sharp lump.

Is this a "sebaceous cyst"?

I would appreciate expansion of this article to include the above symptom, or direction to a more relevant article.

I am beginning to doubt the doctor's diagnosis.

Respectfully yours
