The article/discussion page model is specifically designed to house content and then facilitate a linked talk on the content. When I abstracted this view, it was clear that our reading/responses were a separate application of the same dual-page paradigm. This was the main need from our LMS, and with only a bit of reimagining of what “pages” were supposed to be we could transition the homework mechanism over.
