Page Plan

[edit]

We plan to begin with an introduction section describing what Star-shaped polymers are and a brief summary of their history and applications. We will then have a section on the unique physical and chemical characteristics of star-shaped polymers (geometry, rheology, optical activity, etc). This section might also contain descriptions of major subclasses of star-shaped polymers if major subclasses exist. Next, we will have a section on the synthesis of star-shaped polymers, exploring different major synthetic approaches such as “arm-first” and “core-first” synthesis and briefly describing various reactions used to synthesize star-shaped polymers (click reactions, living anionic polymerization etc). This section might also include a brief history of particularly important star-shaped polymer syntheses. We will then conclude with a section on the applications of star-shaped polymers, which include drug-delivery, optics, chemical synthesis and many others.

Timeline

[edit]

January 24-31: Literature search. Start gathering and outlining resources. Begin to designate certain information to certain sections January 31-February 7: Draft the lead section and the section on characteristics February 7-14: Draft sections on synthesis and applications

Sandbox

[edit]

Here is the link to our Sandbox page. It is empty for now, but we hope to start filling it out according to the above outline. User:rasssar/sandbox rasssar (talk) 18:00, 27 January 2014 (UTC)Mcark[reply]
