I had almost no time to do anything with this article before it was nominated for speedy deletion. This forum is the first of its kind that tries to bring together philanthropists interested in funding projects intended to have a global impact. I was surprised there was not article on the org or on founder Jane Wales. Redline it if you must; I seldom have time for WP fights and it may be awhile before I have time to do more development. Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because the Global Philanthropy Forum is the first of it kind that brings together philanthropists from around the world on strategic philanthropy. Members of the Global Philanthropy Forum include Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Jordan’s Queen Rania, Peruvian economist Hernando de Soto; Nobel Laureates Wangari Maathai and Muhammad Yunus, Google Co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin; former Prime Minister Tony Blair and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton; Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation President, Jeff Raikes; Rockefeller Foundation President, Judith Rodin; and Ford Foundation President, Luis Ubiñas; entrepreneurs and philanthropists Steve and Jean Case; Nigeria’s Tony Elumelu; and former Chilean President Michelle Bachelet.

I did not write this page, but I don't believe it should be removed.

Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because it is new, first of kind. I need more time to add info.
