The name “omukwiyugwemanya” come from the the fig tree which has grow in a stone and its close to the school, the word “omukwiyu”in oshiwambo means fig, while “emanya” mean stone. Its one of the productive school in nothern Namibia and was established in early 1960s during the colonial time, its currently consist of grade 8-12 with more than 1000 leaners. During that time it was regarded as a combined cshool in the area because Oshigambo High School was regarded as “Okagumbo” the shool for female leaners who wish to persuade their carrer in nursing. This days its been over shadowed by Oshigambo High School which is currently the best school in the region but Omukwiyugwemanya still among the schools producing better results in the region.[reply]
