Mens Rea Band[edit]

Either way, the band/your band is non notable. Do not re-create the page. Also, if it very un-wise to blank your user talk page. Undeath (talk) 18:27, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Mens Rea - Band[edit]

A tag has been placed on Mens Rea - Band requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. SWik78 (talk) 18:28, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Helpful?[edit]

I've been in a band for 5 and a half years and I know that my band is not notable. When I say that your band is non notable, I don't say that the band is not good. I am saying that it does not meet the guidlines for a wikipedia page under WP:MUSIC. Until you get signed to a notable label, tour a country, or bring up multiple third party sources, you are non notable. Undeath (talk) 18:32, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. RE[edit]

Then do you have PROOF? Where in the states did you go? Where did you play? Did it sell out? What is your label? I'll say it now, touring is still non notable without a label. I toured Germany and didn't get a page of my own because I have no label. No offense, but the ammount of work you do as a band has nothing to do with wikipedia. You must be notable. No notable label = non notable band. My advice - get signed to a label. Undeath (talk) 18:39, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Still. No label = non notable. I cannot change the rules, I only enforce them. A few clubs in NYC probably won't be notable either. I said toured a country. Not a state. That means you need to play cross country. Basically, if you played in NYC, California, Florida, and some mid-west state, then you would probably be notable. My new suggestion - play a gig or two in Florida, and a gig or two on the west coast. I'm going to sign off for a moment, so if you add anything to my talk page, I won't get back to it in a while. Also, please sign your name by adding four tildes (~) to the end of your comments. Undeath (talk) 18:49, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • The tilde sign is at the upper left hand corner of the keyboard. If you can prove that you have toured the entire of Israel, then you would have the basis for an article. You will need reviews of your performance from third party sources to confirm this too. Undeath (talk) 21:02, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
