Why Was I Blocked?

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Why was I blocked? When I go to edit most pages it says "attempting to imitate another user", which isn't true. This Metros user blocked me for having a similar name, which isn't fair at all. My username is based on my local baseball team and my initials -- how is that not allowed?

Decline reason:

I am perfectly willing to believe that your creation of a similar name was not an attempt to imitate User:Metros. However, our username guidelines prevent your having a username that is so close that you might be mistaken for one another, which I think this username is. You signed up with this username and your first action, a minute later, was to alert me to the fact that we have a similar name.
